What's inside, and why

Seven ingredients, chosen for what they do. Each one traceable to a single origin.

No filler, no anonymous 'natural flavors.' Every ingredient here has a job: to remineralize, protect, polish, or freshen. And each is sourced from the one place in the world that does it best.

What to expect

Week 1

Teeth feel noticeably smooth and clean after each brush.

Weeks 2–3

The powder-to-paste ritual becomes second nature, and breath stays fresher between brushes.

Week 5

Surface stains from coffee and wine begin to lift, and one jar lasts about five weeks on average.

Does it actually work?

Remineralization is a weeks-long process, not a first-brush effect. What you notice first is how clean your teeth feel; the mineral work happens underneath.

Crown is made with 15% micro-crystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHA), the mineral your teeth are made of.

Cows grazing on open pasture, the grass-fed source of Crown's micro-crystalline hydroxyapatite
  1. In a 2019 in-situ study (Amaechi et al., BDJ Open), a 10% hydroxyapatite toothpaste remineralized early enamel lesions as effectively as a 500 ppm fluoride toothpaste. Crown uses 15% micro-crystalline hydroxyapatite.
  2. An 18-month randomized controlled trial by Paszynska et al., published in Frontiers in Public Health (2023), found a fluoride-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste performed comparably to fluoride toothpaste in the study population.

Crown is a cosmetic tooth powder. These studies describe hydroxyapatite as an ingredient; Crown has not been independently clinically tested. Not a substitute for professional dental care.

How to use

The Ritual.

Step 1, wet your brush. A bamboo toothbrush held under running water from a brass faucet, a short pass under cool water to soften the bristles.
Dip into the powder.
Step 3, brush gently. A woman in a robe brushing her teeth with a bamboo toothbrush, brushing gently for two minutes in soft slow circles.

Rinse thoroughly. Repeat morning and evening.

Our origins

Made with intention.

Crown Tooth Powder started with a simple question: why does oral care look and feel like it was designed in a lab? We wanted something different, something you'd be proud to leave on your counter.

Every jar is hand-finished in small batches. We chose considered design over mass production. Seven ingredients instead of sixty. Sourced globally, assembled locally, with care at every step.

Care for the crown. The teeth you have are the only ones you'll keep.
Good to know

Questions, answered.

Does Crown Powder contain fluoride?

No. Crown Powder is fluoride-free. It is made with microcrystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHA), the same mineral your teeth are made of, which has been studied for enamel remineralization.

Why powder instead of paste?

Paste is mostly water, thickeners, and foaming agents. Powder is just the actives. Without water, there's no need for preservatives, and the ingredients stay potent until the moment they touch your brush. The foam you're used to is SLS, a detergent that does nothing for your teeth. Crown skips it, so it feels different for the first few days, then most people never want to go back.

What if I don't love it?

Your One Jar Guarantee. Email hello@crowntoothpowder.com within 14 days of receiving your first jar and we'll refund you in full. You keep the jar.

How do I use a tooth powder?

Wet your brush, press it gently into the jar so a little powder clings, and brush in soft circles for two minutes. The powder turns to a fine paste as you go. Rinse thoroughly, morning and evening.

Is Crown safe for sensitive teeth, receding gums, and dental work?

Crown's polishing base is calcined kaolin clay, which measures softer on the Mohs hardness scale (about 4.5) than tooth enamel (about 5 to 5.5), so it lifts stains without scratching. Hydroxyapatite is widely used in formulations for sensitive teeth. If you have crowns, veneers, bonding, or active gum issues, it's designed to be gentle, but your dentist knows your mouth, so check with them if you're unsure.

How long does the fresh-mint feeling last?

The mint taste fades sooner than a conventional paste's. That's because paste "freshness" is mostly synthetic flavor and foaming agents coating your mouth. Crown's xylitol keeps working on odor-causing bacteria long after the flavor fades. The clean lasts longer than the taste.

How long does one jar last?

Each jar holds 35 g of powder, which lasts five weeks on average with twice-daily use. Lighter use lasts longer, and sharing a jar lasts less.

What's actually in it?

Seven ingredients: New Zealand micro-crystalline hydroxyapatite, Georgia white kaolin clay, organic Finnish birch xylitol, Japanese Amabito no Moshio sea salt, Italian peppermint oil, Indian spearmint oil, and organic Indian menthol crystals. Nothing else.

Where do you ship from, and what does it cost?

Every jar is hand-finished in Houston, Texas and ships free anywhere in the U.S.
